Baseball and Picnic

Old-Time Baseball and Community Picnic Saturday, July 22!

COMING SATURDAY, JULY 22 AT MEMORIAL PARK AND WEAVER FIELD
Don't miss the return of two of the best events from 2022's celebration of Lansdale's 150th Birthday!

Classic baseball teams play a doubleheader under century-old rules in a day-long event. And we invite you to pack a picnic basket (or pick up food and refreshments from our great local vendors), bring a blanket and join us for a community picnic that day, with music and food vendors. All in Memorial Park and Weaver Field in downtown Lansdale.

It's a day of baseball, games, food, music and fun!

Old-time vintage baseball, two games: the Brandywine Baseball Club vs. Philly Athletics in the main event at 3, but even better:

Your hometown Lansdale Foxes team, starring friends and neighbors displaying talents you never knew they possessed, faces off against Brandywine starting at noon! By 1870 rules!

Check out our team's nifty player cards below!

Starting at 11 a.m., bring a blanket, pack a picnic lunch or patronize one of our local vendors for food and refreshments, and come out for a picnic, stay for the fun and games. We'll have live '60s band band Elastic Karma at the Michael DiNunzio Gazebo between games, starting at 1:30. Find the full schedule in the flyer below.

Heeeere are your Lansdale Foxes!

Meet your hometown team! Watch the Lansdale Foxes take on the Brandywine Ball Club under 19th-century rules — no gloves, a one-hop catch is an out, and lots of others! (We hope to have first-aid supplies on hand.) Come cheer on your friends and fellow townsfolk: Mike Beuke, Denton Burnell, John Ernst, Fritz Fowler, Bill Henning, Billy Henning, Garry Herbert, Bob Johnson, Edward Levine, Jason Van Dame, Mike Yetter, and Patrick Scampton from the Fairmount Fire Company of Lansdale. Read their cards, learn their backgrounds — and collect them all!
