Who we are at DL:
Thank you for visiting Discover Lansdale's website.
We are happy to help you get to know what is going on in and around the borough. Over the years, we have brought you many events as well as helped many other organizations with theirs. Our goal is to put Lansdale on the map, one event at a time.
Discover Lansdale is a registered 501(c)(3) charity (financial documents posted below), dedicated to helping support Life in Motion through community growth by creating opportunities for a vibrant and evolving destination for businesses and families to ensure a healthy way of life. We will provide a safe venue for signature events, entertainment, nightlife, shopping and work.
We stage such borough events as Founders Day (and fireworks!), First Fridays including the Zombie Walk and Chili Cookoff, Lansdale Beer Tasting Festival, Zer0.5K and Oktoberfest, and Holiday Mardi Gras Parade each year. We support and sponsor many other Lansdale causes and events. We help promote the borough through efforts such as Restaurant Week and our annual printed and online Business Directory.
And we own and are in the process of restoring the historic Reading Lansdale Freight House on South Broad Street.
We are your friends and your neighbors. We are a volunteer effort. And we welcome your participation, in whatever way you can, as we work to make Lansdale the best town around.

Bill Henning, President:
— "I am a fourth-generation Lansdale resident, born and raised right here in Lansdale. '86 graduate of Lansdale Catholic High School. After college at the American Institute of Design, where I studied Architectural Design & Construction, I worked for a number of years as an architectural designer in Center City, commuting daily by train. I have three wonderful children - Andrew, Lindsay, and Billy - and a beautiful, brilliant wife Deb (and son Zach), all graduates of North Penn High School. Professionally, I manage Henning’s Trains, our family-owned business right here in Lansdale that's been a community staple for over 85 years. In addition, I’ve had the honor of serving our community as a member of the Lansdale Borough Council for two terms. For nearly two decades, I’ve also been deeply involved in volunteerism, dedicating my time to numerous community initiatives and service projects to help make Lansdale a stronger, more connected place for everyone." |
Mary Fuller, Vice President:
— Mary Fuller is a founding member of Discover Lansdale and served as its President until 2024 when she moved into the role of Vice President. Mary has been proudly representing Ward 1 on Lansdale Borough Council since 2010. She is the current Council President, the first woman selected for this honor in the Borough's history. She has served as Vice President, Parks & Recreation Chair, EDC Chair and on almost every council committee. Additionally, Mary is the sitting President of the Lansdale Public Library Board (since 2012) and the Lansdale Cemetery Board (since 2014). Other ways Mary has been involved in the community include 10 years of volunteer service to the North Penn School District, 9 years on the board of Manna on Main Street where she served both as Vice Chair and Chair during her tenure, and currently sits on the board of Elm Terrace Gardens. Committed to public service, Mary's full time job is running a very active food center/market & warehouse in Phoenixville. She has a lifelong connection to Lansdale, living in a Borough home that has always been owned by her family. She and her husband of 35 years, Allen, raised both their children here. Mary is a proud graduate of Shippensburg University. Lansdale events are Mary's passion, her favorite being Founders Day, a holiday she invented in order to have fireworks in Lansdale. |
Bruce Schwartz, Secretary:
— Bruce Schwartz has been a member of Discover Lansdale since 2015. Born and raised in Philadelphia's Mount Airy neighborhood, Bruce started his career in journalism in 1974 at the North Penn Reporter, where he was a reporter and Living Section Editor until 1983, which is where he met his future wife. They married and moved to Arlington, VA, where he was an editor at USA TODAY for the next 30 years and raised two children. In 2013, Bruce retired from journalism and they boomeranged back to the Borough, where he helped establish the hyperlocal news site North Penn Now and served for six years on the Borough's Economic Development Committee. In his role at Discover Lansdale, he established and continues to produce the annual Lansdale Business Directory, now in its 10th year. He maintains Discover Lansdale's websites and manages the email communications with the community. He has been on the planning committees for most of DL's great events, and also can be found volunteering at most of them. And he is a key member of the committee rehabilitating the historic Lansdale Freight House. |

He is also a member of ComicsPRO, whose goals are to promote advocacy, education, and opportunity for their members and for other storefront comic book retailers. |
Tom McKee, Financial Advisor, Edward Jones: — "I am honored to contribute to our mission of promoting Lansdale by connecting businesses, people, and fun. In addition, she enjoys traveling, gardening, watching movies and having fun with family and friends and gatherings. |
Lindsay Beuke, Discover Lansdale Events Coordinator: — Lindsay has happily called Lansdale’s West Ward home since 2011, where she lives with her husband, Mike, their son, Oliver, and two lovable dogs, Brutus Buckeye and Ian. She enjoys serving on the executive board of the North Penn Music Aides as the 2nd Vice President and Publicity Chair and volunteering with Simon’s Heart, Feast, The OSU Alumni Club of Philadelphia, and BSA Scouts. Denton is a senior IT manager who served 12 years on Lansdale Borough Council from 2012 - 2023, including 8 years as President. During his time with Council, Denton was highly supportive of the mission of Discover Lansdale, often volunteering at First Fridays, and is very excited to now be a full time part of the DL board, helping to ensure its future success. In his spare time, Denton is an avid billiards player, movie watcher and science fiction reader. And while he loves ALL of the events supported by Discover Lansdale, the Beer Tasting Festival is definitely a favorite, with Founders Day a very close second. |
