The Lansdale Mural Arts Program Wants YOU!
CALLING ALL WARRIOR ARTISTS!
May is Military Appreciation Month and 2019 is the 100th Anniversary of the American Legion Post 206, in Lansdale! What better way to honor both, than to use the Post’s façade at 2nd and Walnut Streets as the next terrific canvas for the Lansdale Mural Arts Program!?
This is the Call to Artists for submissions and inspiration!
For LMAP, Lansdale Mural Arts Program, the mission since 2013 has been to help make Lansdale beautiful, one huge canvas at a time. And no canvas yet is bigger or more visible in our town than the home of LMAP’s fifth piece at the American Legion. The building’s wide facade is not only viewed by those who live, work and enjoy daily life in downtown Lansdale, but also SEPTA’s steady stream of rail commuters and travelers along the R5 Lansdale/Doylestown line.
A terrific chance to take advantage of this HUGE opportunity to roll up your sleeves, armed with pens, pencils and crayons, to create your own meaningful and powerful mural concept for our Friends, Families and Fighters in the US Military Services!
If you are made of the Right Stuff to be the Lead Artist on a piece in keeping with the Military Service theme and the “welcome” message we all want to extend to visitors to Lansdale, WE WANT YOU!

Artists’ Instructions for Submission of Work
Note: Sketches – Sketches are FINE! In past years, Artists have presented series and/or concepts with a few sketched renditions – Make the deadline, not stress on a fully finished piece? That is what the wall is for! ;)
There is no guarantee that the work will be done this season, but there is a goal to have the piece selected and approved in time to accomplish the installation over the summer/fall 2019, with great hope that it may be possible to get the work underway, and/or at least to show the final rendering, in time for Founders’ Day, August 24, 2019!
Check out other events and programs in town via this website as well as those of the Lansdale Borough, the Lansdale Library and Historical Society! – Great additional resources to stay in the know and find just the right causes and activities for you.
We look forward to hearing from you!
